WAR RISK AND TERRORISM INSURANCE

Recent World events have garnered the attention of brokers and employers to review their current employee benefit insurances and exposures to employees due to War Risk exclusion. War Risk exclusions are standard in many employee benefit policies, including Life, Long Term Disability, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Travel Insurances. StarLine Group can provide benefits coverage as a result of War Risk and Terrorism excluded by the underlying employee benefit policies for all of the following scenarios.

  • U.S. Employers commonly have U.S. employees traveling to all regions of the Globe.

  • U.S. Employers have segments of their workforce overseas represented by international employees.

  • Several U.S. Companies are bidding for or sub-contracting reconstruction contracts in the Middle East.

Industries that frequently have this type of exposure include civil engineers, software engineers, communication technicians, construction contractors, civilian defense contractors, news reporters, war correspondents and other media related personnel, Weapons of Mass destruction (WMD) experts, oil well firefighters, and relief workers providing humanitarian aid.

StarLine Group has a complete portfolio of War Risk products to offer. Policies can be arranged to include Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Permanent Total Disability (PTD), Temporary Total Disability (TTD), Accident Medical, Medical Evacuation and Repatriation benefits for individuals and employer groups. Policies can be arranged for specific trips or annual coverage on a war risk “carve out” only basis or 24 hour coverage including war risk. Arrangements can be made for Nuclear, Chemical, Biological and “Dirty Bomb” exposures which may be excluded under War Risk policies. Nuclear exposures are covered on a limited and per account basis.

Quotes can be obtained by requesting the type of policy needed along with the number of individuals to be covered, the nature of business the individuals will be involved in along with the specific locations and time frame they will be performing their duties.
